Elected deputies to NA and People's Councils announced

Several provinces and cities across the country on May 26 announced the list of deputies elected to the National Assembly (NA) and all-level People's Councils who were successful in the general elections held on May 22.

Hanoi, the locality with the highest number of polls, voters and candidates running for the NA and all-level People's Councils, announced the results of the election of deputies to the 14th NA and 15th municipal People's Council for 2016-2021 tenure on May 26.
The city saw 98.98% of voters go to polling stations and 2,149 out of 4,876 polling stations received 100% of registered voters. There was no poll that recorded below 50% of voters.
Voters elected 30 deputies to the NA and 105 deputies to the municipal People's Council. Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung received the highest percentage of votes to the municipal People's Council at 95.18%.
On the same day, the Election Committee of Dak Lak province announced the list of elected deputies to the provincial People's Council. Eighty-five out of 141 candidates were elected to the provincial People's Council including 19 women (accounting four 22.35%), 24 ethnic minorities deputies (accounting for 28.24%), three young deputies (3.53%), six non-Party member deputies (7.06%), 32 re-elected deputies (37.65%) and five deputies from religious organisations (5.88%).
The Election Committee of Nghe An province on May 26 also reported the list of 13 deputies elected to the 14th NA and 91 deputies elected to the 17th provincial People's Council.
Ca Mau province announced 54 deputies elected to the 9th provincial People's Council including 11 women.
Lai Chau province on May 25 posted the results of the election of deputies to the provincial People's Council with 50 out of 84 candidates elected. In addition, the province announced the list of 267 deputies elected to the district-level People's Council and 2,763 deputies elected to the commune-level People's Council.
Tay Ninh province also reported 52 deputies elected to the provincial People's Council for the 10th tenure.
Thai Binh province on May 26 held a meeting to announce the results of the election of deputies to the NA and People's Councils at all levels. However, the number of elected deputies to the People's Council at the commune-level was not equal to two thirds of elected deputies according to Article 79 of the Election Law. Thus, the election of more deputies to the commune-level People's Council will be held at 13 polls on June 5.
