-- On Wednesday, Doctor Bui Duc Phu, director of the Hue Central Hospital, announced that Vietnam has recently completed its first cardiopulmonary transplantation. The surgery was conducted for an hour by doctors from the Hue Central Hospital and Ho Chi Minh City’s Cho Ray Hospital on a 40-year-old patient.
-- The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has sent a letter requesting Singapore’s diplomatic agencies to explain why Singaporean authorities had denied entry to numerous Vietnamese tourists, especially women, though they meet all immigration requirements.
-- Around 160 workers of the Taiwanese company Meraki at the Song Than 1 Industrial Park in the southern province of Binh Duong were hospitalized Wednesday for nausea and abdominal pain. The workers said the symptoms occurred after they had dinner at the company the night before.
-- The number of teletherapy machines in Vietnam is not enough to satisfy the demand for treatment, Dr. Dang Huy Quoc Thinh, deputy director of the Ho Chi Minh City Oncology Hospital said at a conference on Wednesday. According to Dr. Thinh, due to the lack of teletherapy machines, plus the machines are only available for use in big cities like Hanoi, Hue, Ho Chi Minh City, patients from other provinces have to come to these places for treatment.

-- Many Vietnamese enterprises producing chicken said they could not export their products to the Japanese market, even though they met all the high standards there, due to veterinary procedures.
-- The Ho Chi Minh City Statistical Office has announced that the consumer price index has increased 0.11 percent in July compared with last month. Meanwhile, Hanoi’s CPI has seen a rise of 0.18 percent in comparison with the previous month.
Lifestyle
-- A show titled “MIX!X” will be broadcast at 8:00 pm every Thursday at www.ibizone.vn and on its namesake YouTube channel, starting July 23. The show featuring DJs and what their job is about will showcase new genres of electronic music, including techno, trance, house, trap, etc.
Sports

-- The General Department of Sports and Physical Training under the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism has set a target for Team Vietnam to win 1-2 medals at the 2016 Olympics, to be held in Brazil in August, as well as gold medals at the 2020 edition, to be organized in Japan.
