Two Vietnamese female disc jockeys, both in their twenties, have been listed among the world’s top 100 by a deejay-database website.
DJ Oxy, whose real name is Cu Thi Ngoc, stands in 24th place while her compatriot DJ King Lady is ranked 95th on the FDJS – Top 100 list released this week on the basis of the Female DJ Poll by thefdjlist.com.
The website is said to be the first ever female DJ directory platform listing all female DJs from around the world, according to EDMDroid, a Malaysia-based online magazine covering electronic dance music.
A DJ is a person who plays and mixes recorded dance music at a club or party.
Both Oxy and King Lady were born in 1993.
Leading the top 100 are world-famous DJs Nervo (Australia), Sabrina Terence (Germany), and Havana Brown (Australia).
The Female DJ Poll ran from September 30 to November 3, soliciting votes from electronic music lovers around the globe for their favorite female deejays.
DJ Oxy started her career as early as age 16 and is now famous among local club-goers.
The 21-year-old told Vietnamese newswire Zing News she is happy to have entered the world’s top 100 for the first time.
“I’m happy because my efforts over the past years have been recognized by fans,” she was quoted as saying.

King Lady, who has only been a DJ for just over a year, also took to Facebook to share her joy and feelings.
“Thank you to all for voting for me. This is a huge encouragement for me to improve more in my career,” she wrote.

DJ Oxy and King Lady are close friends and usually perform at the same events, according to Zing News.
Fdjlist.com boasts databases of more than 500 female deejays around the globe classified by the music genre they play.
