  A book on General Vo Nguyen Giap to be released


PANO - The book, “Vo Nguyen Giap”, by Georges Boudarel, will be made public on December 12thby Thaihabooks to celebrate 68th founding anniversary of Vietnam People’s Army on December 22nd.

The book is one of the most valuable works on General Vo Nguyen Giap, an eminent military commander, a talented general and a prominent figure of Vietnam’s modern history and the world of 20th century.
Author Georges Boudarel is a researcher on Vietnam and its people. He has authored various precious works, some of which have been translated into Vietnamese language.
In the book, the French scholar clearly and vividly depicts a portrait of General Vo Nguyen Giap from his childhood to a great general of Vietnam People’s Army.
Vietnamese historian Duong Trung Quoc said that in Georges Boudarel’s view, Vo Nguyen Giap selectively inherited military thoughts of modern revolutionaries including Lenin and Mao Zedong and of classic military strategists, such as Clausewitz and Sunzi. Notably, Vo Nguyen Giap loyal made use of Ho Chi Minh’s Thoughts and the Party’s on Vietnam People’s War.
101 special copies of the book will be printed in celebration of 101st birth anniversary of General Vo Nguyen Giap. Those copies will be presented to General’s family, General’s Office and high-ranking officers.
